1. Well-written:
	1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.	In the lead: what local militia? sped up promotion he was captured, and suddenly he is supporting Napoleon?  Done Early life: Not sure why Mazarin, Beauce or Médoc need to be in italics? "emigrate" with the colours? Seems a strange term. Perhaps "abscond" or "desert"?  Disagree I've been using Splényi Infantry Regiment Nr. 51, for example. It is done this way in some books including Chandler. Rules are necessary, but this one is a gray area. Can you just clarify the basis on which you are using italics per MOS:ITALICS? I though the Mazarin regiment was named after the cardinal, and the Beauce and Médoc regiments were named after the eponymous regions? I just can't see any MOS-based reason why they should be in italics on en WP.  Done I will concede the point because I've found two books where the old regiment names are not italicized. However, consider this. SS Divisions are titled 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking with the German-language name in italics. (Panzer Lehr Division is the exception!) Putting the unit number with the italicized unit name for SS divisions is hardly any different than putting the unit number with the province/proprietor's name for old French or Austrian regiments. In the case of French regiments, they took numbers after the old name designation was dropped in 1791. Infantry Regiment Splényi Nr. 51 looks so stodgy and I'll miss the italics.  Done This is rephrased and the link émigré is used for emigrate which in this case implies "counterrevolutionary". French Revolutionary Wars italicisation of Army of the Alps and the other armies doesn't seem compliant with MOS:ITALICS "on the evening onof 28 April"  Done I saw someone italicizing army titles and followed it. Corrected and will not do this any more.  Done Later life The bolding of SERURIER in the last sentence doesn't seem compliant with MOS:BOLD  Done
	1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
	2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.	the author linking in the References section should be done using the field, and just link the first reference by each author. See Template:Cite book for syntax. I suggest archiving the website links using Wayback Machine or similar Not sure: Please see my reply. Please point me to an article that uses acceptable sfn citations. I don't fully understand your comment. Djmaschek (talk) 05:01, 30 October 2015 (UTC) If you have a look at how I used the |authorlink= field for Chandler, you will see how to do it for the others. Only authorlink the first reference by an author, ie see I've removed the authorlink from the second Chandler reference. This is explained in the documentation for the cite book template.  Done Thanks. I will do this from now on.
	2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).	Can you clarify the reasons why the websites are considered reliable sources? I believe the Pickle Partners books by Phipps are published in Sevenoaks (per Worldcat)  Please review my comments below. Data from the Napoleon Series (Broughton) website can sometimes be cross-checked with French-language sources such as Mullié and is generally accurate, though there are a few typos. The Timmermanns website is less verifiable, though both sources are honest efforts to add data about the Napoleonic era. I suggest that the Timmermans website may struggle to get past an A-class review on the basis of reliability.  Done Timmermanns and Broughton refs and material removed. The publisher of my Phipps books is listed as Pickle Partners. I will check again. Phipps actually published in the 1920-30s and I've seem him cited in more recent historical works. I can change the publish date to the original publish date, if this is a problem.
