Is there some way to make it more clear that this North Carolina-located Jacksonville Speedway (closed) is not the same as the Illinois-located Jacksonville Speedway (currently in operation). Was the defunct one historically more notable than the current one? - Buckaboob Bonsai (talk)
- If two subjects have the same name, Wikipedia distinguishes between them by disambiguation.
- Since the Illinois speedway does not have its own article, one approach might be to add a hatnote to this article like this one:
{{Hatnote|This article is about the NASCAR track in North Carolina. There is another track of the same name in [[Jacksonville, Illinois#Attractions|Jacksonville, Illinois]].}}
- This mimics what the {{about}} template would do, but we use the more general template because the subject does not strictly adhere to that other template's expectations.
- Now the fact that the mention of the Illinois speedway does not seem to have a reference is something else that needs to be addressed, but let's deal with one question at a time.
- Do you want to try your hand at this edit? (I'm not sure either eponymous or namesake actually applies between the two racetracks.) — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 06:41, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, thank you -- I can give that a try! - Buckaboob Bonsai (talk) 02:30, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
