Title Change?
[edit]The name of the lake is JACKSON LAKE, it is not Lake Jackson. The title should be changed to reflect this fact. Originally posted on the Article itself by the IP user 98.80.195.45 on 26 November 2012 at 22:01. Removed and placed here by Light-jet pilot (talk) 06:10, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have to say I oppose the title change. I did not notice this was a thing until I saw the logs. A quick Google search reveals mostly real estate listings that list the word lake second. The sources on this wiki page are valid, however, per Wikipedia's general citation standards, a government/owner website usually is a more credible citation. The owner's website (Georgia Power) http://georgiapowerlakes.com/lakejackson/ Georgia Tourism Website https://www.exploregeorgia.org/jackson/outdoors-nature/fishing/lake-jackson Lastly as a local, I and others around me have known it as Lake Jackson. In local speak, it is generally how the sentence is formed that determines the word order but formally known as Lake Jackson. (An exception example would be, "I'm going out to Jackson Lake." instead of the slightly more formal, "I'm going to Lake Jackson.") In the end, because they are used so interchangeably between locals, I move that it be named under its owner issued/government known name as the general public version can go both ways at any random time with neither one being distinctly used in common language --CBassett1 (talk) 06:55, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
