How many wikipedians have been on It's Academic, either on TV, or played on the team. We should make a new template to put on user pages.--talk to me crimes against humanity22:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC) [reply]

I was an alternate on the show, and I showed up on tv in the audience and at the end when everyone comes on down. It was so much fun! It will air on December 23, so listen for when the center team says they would like to thank their alternate Ryan Smith. Emmgtv 16:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was on the Baltimore show just yesterday. And we won! Woo hoo. --Perimosocordiae 21:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was on the DC show on Nov. 11. It will air on Dec. 23rd. We won too! Mmace91 06:49, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was! It'll air February 10th, I think.68.55.247.45 20:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC) <- That was me... forgot to log in...Kingkiki217 20:55, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like no one's touched this for years, so let me change that. I was on the Cleveland (WEWS) version of the show back in another life. I'll see what I can fix/fill in about it, though I don't have much left from that time. One minor point - because of a format change, there were no overall champions for that version from 1975 until sometime in the 1990s. Mahousu (talk) 01:55, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

According

[edit]

to Tim Russert, & Charles Schumer, Chuck Schumer & Cokie Roberts had been on a 1967 "It's_Academic", according to the Sunday, the 05th, November, 2006 Meet the Press. I, hereby, request assistance in further verifying this.

Thank You.

Merging other shows in It's Academic format here

[edit]

There are a lot of shows using the It's Academic format, such as Hometown High-Q and Academic Challenge (Ohio). As they only differ in the round names and minor changes, they should be merged into this article. RJaguar3 | u | t 19:46, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing no objection, I'm going to perform the merger now. RJaguar3 | u | t 05:07, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Some Buffalo History

[edit]

Since this title is "It's Academic" without specifying the region, I recommend it be rewritten to include information from other regions and make it less specific than the DC/Va/Md area -- make it about the entire show and history. The article already references shows from other parts of the country, such as Buffalo; I recommend that the history from those areas also be included as well.

The alternative is to rename the article "It's Academic -- DC/Va/Md" and create a new article for "It's Academic" overall with links to this article. I recommend the first idea, though. Wayn3w (talk) 12:13, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History? Background? Completely missing

[edit]

"It's Academic" began in the early 1960s in many areas in the U.S.

This article needs to incorporate some history and background. 2601:200:C000:1A0:D038:88EA:8F27:9A72 (talk) 17:58, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
