Great Concept for Peace and harmony by YOGA

[edit]

I do not know about how and why it was created but I do know that the modern era times are getting tough in any part of the world..Technologies get massively complicated and goals/objectives of work & home demands raises immense usage of mind /brain in modern day work force leading to fatigue and exhaustion...Any form of mind/body and soul activities to calm & relax is of invaluable resource to handle these stressful demands of work and home.. In short mind relaxation techniques are very few except for few yoga/meditation/chanting which are a source of satsang activities.. These sessions are tried to impose in light instrumental music or classical deep soulful chants/dances whose objectives are to relax the neurons and flow of blood at optimum speeds ..The modern day music/dance/groups are so exciting and high rthym that the energy lost is way more then calming down..So yes Yoga is good for young and old, rich or poor, spiritual or non spiritual--Vdhananjay (talk) 16:38, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It should contain three(3)links providing detailed info on the events that were the foundations for the creation of this global event, and the role played by the yoga portuguese confederation, and its president Amrta suryanandaji maha raj. So it is clear how they were co organizing the summit in december 2011, held in India, and how they presented this idea to H.E. Narendra Modi, in November 2012 @the V Convention of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha.

"The creation of this Day, on June, celebrated on 21st, Solstice, and its officialization in 2014, December, by the United Nations (by proposal of Shrí Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, in September of that same Year), was the reason why the Government of India graced Amrta Súryánanda, on April 8th of 2015, with the Padma Shrí Award – the highest Civilian honor of India (rarely awarded to a foreigner, and never before to a Portuguese). It was also the reason why Amrta Súryánanda was the only Yoga Master in the World to be present at the General Assembly of the UN, in New York, at the moment of the Resolution’s Approval (as guest of honor of the official governments of India and Portugal). "Editions" list

[edit]

The "Editions" list is becoming problematic. It carries the implication that we are going to carry reports of every year's Day of Yoga; but these will swamp the article, and frankly they are already becoming distinctly repetitive. I suppose we can hive it off to a List of International Days of Yoga if all else fails. Better would be to extract a small amount of the most interesting encyclopedic detail from the span of years, highlighting the records and achievements. In according to Indian ancient history , The pathanjalimajamuni ( Saint ) has introduced this art of yoga as physical , mental and spiritual practice .

Many thanks, but you will find that covered in detail at Patanjali, Yoga, and Yoga as exercise. It does not concern this article. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:49, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The themes for individual years are listed in the list article, not here. You must have looked over there. Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:05, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Origin

[edit]
  • Replace In 2015 Reserve Bank of India issued a 10 rupees commemorative coin to mark the International Day of Yoga. with In 2015, the Reserve Bank of India issued a 10-rupee commemorative coin to mark the International Day of Yoga.
  • Done.

UN Declaration

[edit]
  • In the phrase "In Indian calendars," add "the" before "Indian".
  • Done.
  • In the third paragraph - Change "lauded" to "praised" for a more common synonym.
  • Done.
  • Change "the benefit of yoga" to "the benefit of yoga." for smoother phrasing.
  • Done.

In practice

[edit]
  • In the first sentence, it's better to specify that "The first International Day of Yoga" was "celebrated" rather than "observed." While "observed" is not incorrect, the other term is more commonly used in this context.

Reception

[edit]
  • You should replace "Modi" with "Prime Minister Modi" in some instances to provide more context.
  • Glossed the first instances in both text and image caption.

Reference

[edit]

Please fix following cite parameters.

  • In |website=www.mea.gov.in, remove www.
  • In |publisher=Times of India, add "The" before Times of India.
  • In |agency=NDTV, replace "agency" parameter with "publisher".
  • Done all.
  • Please retain the three best sources out of the six references for "Similar days have been held in cities in India and around the world each year since then," and remove the other three.
  • Done.
  • Spot checks -

According to Earwig, the article's text closely matches content from these sources:

  • img1.wsimg.com (92.8% similarity) --- gets File Not Found error
  • researchgate.net (75.0% similarity)
  • organiser.org (49.7% similarity) --- unable to add this as it is blocked by Wikipedia's Protection Filter
  • pib.gov.in (41.2% similarity)

It's clear that these portions have been copied from Wikipedia. Therefore, I recommend adding the {{Backwards copy}} template to the article's talk page.

I don't see any other issues, so promoting it. 𝙳𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖𝚁𝚒𝚖𝚖𝚎𝚛 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚌𝚞𝚜𝚜 16:03, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
