Icon

[edit]

All other major national cricket teams have their icon as their cricket logo, with India being the only one with a flag. Proposing that we put the logo as well Pharaoh496 (talk) 15:22, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, the BCCI logo was removed after a WP:FFD (check the file discussion page for that logo). Other national teams shouldn't be using their cricket board's logos either, if they do, then that is what needs fixing. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:59, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Every single cricket team and non cricket national sports team has their logo. I spoke with some editors and have found that it is actually a flag violation to use this here. Pharaoh496 (talk) 10:03, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Teams like Ireland and West Indies do not represent a single nation, their icons cannot be changed to a national flag. FatBatO3 (talk) 08:29, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What about the other teams Pharaoh496 (talk) 11:34, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The title of the article should be changed to India Men's National Cricket Team

[edit]

Is it possible to change the title of the page to India Men's National Cricket Team as it is for the Women's team? I had a chance to read the point made previously regarding the same concern. It doesn't matter which team is more popular. If we are talking about the nation, it is extremely important to count the efforts being put by the people from all the genders to be given equal importance in hoisting the flag of the nation in such widely popular sports. It becomes our responsibility as the people of newer generations to not let such things go by as they may not be relevant in the historic times but now, and in the coming future, they are going to mean a lot.

Hereby, I request Wikipedia to kindly change the name of the article (and not redirect the new page for India Men's National Cricket Team to the India National Cricket Team).

P.S. Just because we will have to take the responsibility of changing the titles of all such pages and hence, do "unnecessary work", doesn't mean we shouldn't take this up. Let's try and change one thing at a time.

Thanks

@Aakrititanwar Such requests have been previously discussed and rejected. Kindly read the discussions on this page above. >>> Extorc.talk 09:19, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, the title of the article needs to be changed. FatBatO3 (talk) 08:30, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Edit: India's T20I Captain and Coach

[edit]

As of 6:34 EST June 30, India has not yet confirmed a new T20i Captain or a new all-formats Coach. An edit was made which changed both to have Hardik Pandya as the new T20i Captain and Gautam Gambhir as the coach. While these two are front-runners at the moment, it is not yet confirmed, so please change it back. Ajamb2024 (talk) 22:36, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion

[edit]

Requesting the above move discussion be re-opened. The team should have “men's” in the name like the women’s team does. This promotes inequality and bias and is not neutral. OCDD (talk) 21:02, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
