Vandalism

[edit]

It seems that there is a large amount of information is being deleted by some people. For example, currently this page has no information regarding the athletes who lost out earlier. Please don't do that. For example see our previous versions (India at 2008 Olympics). ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nithishr (talkcontribs) 12:44, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

Kindly add Knocked Out, it was very useful section. Jaswinderrajput (talk) 18:50, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It was very difficult to maintain and was pretty ambiguous. People were confused for things such as are the three Archers who have lost their team event have been knocked out. Because they still have to compete in Individual events. Similarly there was confusion for athletes competing in more than one events. Prateek (talk) 14:15, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is difficult to maintain but it provides the clear picture. It have three columns: Men, Women and Events which clearly shows who knocked out. Jaswinderrajput (talk) 18:50, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Look at how many edits were have to be undid because of wrong changes to this table since people didn't understand what does the columns mean. Prateek (talk) 14:51, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agreed with Prateek to some extent but that table was really useful and if its really difficult to maintain the table with 3 columns , then only one column of events can be maintained in that table — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.227.39.216 (talk) 17:37, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merged knocked out table with Competitors table. e.g. In table tennis, I used lost color. Jaswinderrajput (talk) 18:50, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please restore the color in tables(red for lost/green for won etc.). Makes it easier to visualize the performance of different athletes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.167.115.64 (talk) 07:17, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

please correct yogeshwar dutt's details. It should be silver. Peelusrinivasan (talk) 18:36, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy over tennis pairing

[edit]

Mahesh Bhupati said "... If I am going to the Olympics this time, it is with the singular goal of trying to win a medal for India. I can't do it with him (Paes), with Rohan I do have a chance" http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/tournaments/london-olympics/My-worst-day-I-am-crushed-Mahesh-Bhupathi/articleshow/14158788.cms I think this needs to be mentioned in the article somewhere. probably a controversy section? -Abhishikt (talk) 02:48, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The bronze medal that Yogeshwar dutt won in the 2012 London Olympics is set to be upgraded to silver. The unexpected upgrade has been triggered by a positive dope test of the silver winner in the 60-kg freestyle event in London – Russia’s Besik Kudukhov. Kudukhov died in a car accident at the age of 27 in Russia in 2013. However, ahead of the Rio Games this month, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) re-tested the four-time world champion’s sample, which was collected during the London Games. The re-test was part of standard practice, with samples now stored for up to 10 years to allow the use of advanced testing methods to weed out dope cheats.
