[edit]Hmm.. I'd contend the island 'looking like a battleship', especially given the draft of a battleship and the proximity to the bridge. the similarity of Inchmickery to a battleship is remarkable in silhouette, but I'm not sure that's really the case for Inchgarvie. njan 21:10, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps a wooden ship of the line rather than a steel steam-powered battleship is what it looks like.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 00:29, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Inchgarvie → Inch Garvie – Although the current name gets more Google hits, the Ordnance Survey Canmore, Historic Scotland and Vision of Britain spell it with 2 words. - Cautious oppose I think you will find that, with the large majority of islands known in English as "Inch something", they are a single word in English. PatGallacher (talk) 18:45, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
- Tullibody Inch and Alloa Inch aren't. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:37, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
