Ikwerre local government area or Ikwerre (local government area)
[edit]Niceguyedc "Ikwerre, Rivers" isn't what most reliable sources call it, several has referred to the place as either Ikwerre local government area or Ikwerre (local government area). Here some 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Can you provide sources where it is referred as "Ikwerre, Rivers"? Please also see this discussion here. Stanleytux (talk) 10:23, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Per the title guidelines for places, places are usually disambiguated by the province (in the case of Nigeria, the state), or the country. I note that many places in Nigeria take the form of "place, state" (some with the word State after the state name, some without). If there is consensus to move places in Nigeria to "place (local government area)", I have no issue with that. My only concern was the attempt to move Ikwerre, Rivers to Ikwerre. With Ikwerre people and Ikwerre language also existing, there will need to be a full move discussion to attempt that move. -Niceguyedc Go Huskies! 10:41, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Just like Niceguyedc said, places are usually disambiguated with their upper subdivisions or country. If you feel there's a need to disambiguate Ikwerre with the LGA, you'll need a consensus for that. I moved the page from "Ikwerre, Rivers State" to "Ikwerre, Rivers", because placing "state" for disambiguating article titles is unneeded and doesn't have any relevance, making it redundant for the disambiguation. Disambiguation only need to provide just about enough information to distinguish the topic. You don't see India or US using "state of ____" to disambiguate places, only the needed part of the official name is added.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 11:35, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
