[edit]This needs a tag as it is not a nuetral argument. The writers clearly fails to realize Lucille Ball had a similar program but the two were only superfically relataed. Furthermore Joan Davis was a huge star and well known in radio and movies. Lucille Ball only made a movies which could barely be decscribed as "B" movies. Ball's radio show lasted only two years and never was a huge hit, but carried it's own, which is why "I Love Lucy" is often directly stole line for line from that show, because no one was familiar with the product.
Joan Davis's character was a wacky dame from the vaudeville era, while Ball's character was simply pushy, spoiled rotten and ungrateful and in every other episode ended with Lucy crying and Ricky giving in. Davis's show was much more evenly based with Jim Backus seen as an equal.
There is nothing at all biased about the original article - it gives the facts about the show and does not give any personal opinion at all. The writer of the above seems to have some kind of bias against the I Love Lucy show and especially about the character that Lucille Ball plays. Reading the above article in fact shows a personal bias in favor of the Joan Davisshow and character and should be interpreted as such. Jay Kauffman

The music
[edit]I'm going only from memory here, but I believe that this may have been the only sitcom whose music was entirely choral--that is, no instruments were used. I wish I could cite a source, but it's just me. Kinsler33 (talk) 18:00, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
