Originality of IFA G5 ?

[edit]

Soviet copy of US Studebaker US6 2½-ton 6×6 truck, further copied by East Germany. --129.187.244.19 (talk) 14:04, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Have you had a look at the technical specifications? The IFA G5 is a larger, and much more capable lorry compared to the Studebaker. It has wider tyres, completely different axles, a different gearbox, a different engine, and as a result, it has a payload that is about 10 % greater. Unless there is serious evidence for your claim, it is just another conspiracy theory. Best, --Johannes (Talk) (Contribs) (Articles) 15:55, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
it is no "conspiracy theory", that the Soviets copied the Stud to a certain, unmissable extent. Only look at semblance (btw., term "c. t." seems somewhat overstretched these days ...) --129.187.244.19 (talk) 09:36, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is the talk page of the IFA G5, an East German lorry, not a Soviet one. As I have said, there is no semblance, which is very obvious (compare tech specs). The IFA G5 can carry much more payload than the Stud. If the G5 was a copy of the Stud, it would definitely be much less capable. There are Comecon vehicles/automotive technologies that are copies of Western ones, but the IFA G5 does not belong in this category.
