Requested move 3 May 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page at this time, per the discussion below. Please also note that for Google searches to be meaningful, terms should be placed in quotes to avoid partial matches (when placed inside quotation marks, "Human rights abuses in Northeast India" receives only about 10 Google hits.) Human rights issues in Northeast India → Human rights abuses in Northeast India – Per WP:COMMONTERM, Human rights abuses in Northeast India is the rightful title. A simple Google search for issues (1,180,000 hits) and abuses (1,790,000 hits) reveals which is in vogue.. JosephusOfJerusalem (talk) 09:09, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. There are no specific standards in determining which Wikipedia articles use main title headers indicating "issues", "abuses" or "violations". Each use of one of the terms appears to be randomly chosen — Human rights issues in the United States, Human rights issues in the United Kingdom, Human rights issues in Turkey, Human rights issues in Turkmenistan, Human rights issues in Indonesia, Human rights issues in Sudan, Human rights issues in North Korea.
- But then it is Human rights abuses in Jammu and Kashmir, Human rights abuses in Kashmir, Human rights abuses in Azad Kashmir, Human rights abuses in Sindh, Human rights abuses in Manipur, Human rights abuses in Assam or Human rights abuses during the Kurdish-Turkish conflict.
- There is also Human rights violations during the Syrian civil war, Human rights violations in Pinochet's Chile, Human rights abuses in Balochistan redirects to Human rights violations in Balochistan while on the other hand, Human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir redirects to Human rights abuses in Jammu and Kashmir, etc. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 04:28, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
