A fact from Hegumen Mardarije appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 April 2015 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
... with this statement: "In 1543 Mardarije was a hegumen of the Banja Monastery near Priboj when Todor Ljubavić, a monk in Mileševa and son of Božidar Ljubavić, was sent to Venice to join his brother Đurađ and to buy a printing press for the monastery. Todor was accompanied by Mileševa monk Sava and by Mardarije." As is known from reliable sources, Đurađ and Teodor Ljubavić travelled to Venice in 1518, and there's no mentioning that they were accompanied by monks Sava and Mardarije (see Goražde printing house). The source for that might be outdated or otherwise inadequate. Vladimir (talk) 18:18, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A very good point. Here are the first snippet from the source and second snippet. They confirm that Todor from Mileseva was printer in Venice in 1519. I can't find right now the complete text of source, but the one I presented does confirm that Todor Ljubavic might be Mileseva's Todor 25 years later and that Mardarije went with Sava and Teodor to Venice?--Antidiskriminator (talk) 23:16, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
First, I'd like to thank you for your work on early Serb printers and printing houses (among others of your contributions). The part "to join his brother Đurađ" cannot be true for 1543 because Đurađ Ljubavić died in Venice in 1519. This is also a problem in the article Mileševa printing house. There is a good source - the reference "Barać 2008" in the article Goražde printing house (though it doesn't explicitly distinguish between Hegumen M. and Hieromonk M). It has a section on the Mileševa printing house(s), "Штампарије манастира Милешеве", see this and following pages. It says (p. 52) that Mileševa's Hegumen Danilo sent his monks Nikanor and Sava to go to Venice with Banja's Hegumen Mardarije. They most likely borrowed a press from Vuković's printing house. The Psalter was printed by Hegumen Mardarije and Hieromonk Teodor, who could be the same as Teodor Ljubavić of the Goražde printing house (footnote 35). Thank you. You are right. Đurađ was dead in 1543 and the source you brought does say that Teodor could be the same as Teodor Ljubavić of the Goražde printing house. Đurađ assertion is probably mistake in the source I used, or I made mistake in interpreting it. Thank you for noticing this. I am very busy in real life lately so I would appreciate if you can correct this and add work of Barać. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 21:35, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
