Laws protecting "public peace"
[edit]The way some speech-limiting laws are worded imho invites hecklers veto discussion. For example, laws against "insulting religion" are often worded in such a way that the offense is not the insult in and of itself but an insult "in a manner apt to disturb public peace". So in essence a religious community will get more legal protection if it reacts more violently to public criticism. Hobbitschuster (talk) 10:06, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- for the wording of a relevant law, see paragraph 166 of the German criminal code. Hobbitschuster (talk) 10:08, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
