The info in this article seems accurate and thorough to me, but it isn't sourced. I'll try to find some documentation to back it up. I can also get image(s) of Harris Tweed fabric.

It would be useful if someone could add a note on how to decode the serial number that the HT jackets have. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.99.110.52 (talk) 16:40, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Harris TweedHarris tweedWP:CONSISTENT with other types of cloth and other product classes with protected designation of origin. This isn't really a proper name, it is simply frequently over-capitalised as a marketing matter (MOS:TM), which has heavily "poisoned" ngram results, as has Wikipedia's own over-capitalising of it (for a really clear example of this effect, see [1], in which a term was overwhelmingly lower-cased then well-mixed for a while, then became majority upper-cased after Wikipedia introduced an over-capitalised article on the subject). Other protected-designation-of-origin products are not treated this "capitalise the entire term" way (e.g., it's Bonchester cheese not "Bonchester Cheese").  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  11:07, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Support and I'll add that Harris Tweed sounds like the name of a person. There's no good reason to capitalize the second word. Killuminator (talk) 12:12, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
