Date and Time of Breakout
[edit]This is not 'uncertain'. Baur entered a subway tunnel with 15 others at 9:30 pm on May 1. The group had to surface at the Friedrichstrasse station and tried to escape over the Weidendammer Brücke (bridge) that spans the Spree (river). Here he was seen by Erich Kempka. Baur was badly wounded. In russian captivity, one of his legs had to be amputated. He was not released until 1955. (Bodo)
Translation
[edit]The translation "I flew with the master of the Earth" from the german "Ich Flog Mit den Mächtigen Der Erde" is not accurate. "Mächtige" (plural) does not mean master but "The mighty", a better translation would be "I flew with the mighty of the earth". ~Mephistophilus
Thank you. I shall modify the page accordingly. My knowledge of German is very small. CielProfond
To the Translation: The Book in German is actually Called "Ich flog Mächtige der Erde" which I would translate into: "I flew Mighty [ones] of the earth/world" Though I have also seen this title: "Mit Mächtigen zwischen Himmel und Erde" which i would translate into: "With Mighty [ones] inbetween (the) Sky and Earth" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.3.162.51 (talk) 16:20, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
Hmmmm
[edit]The tone of this article is awfully sympathetic, for a biography of a genocidal Nazi piece of shit. DublinDilettante (talk) 03:29, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
Well technically he was just a pilot and saw no sign of a genocide according to his book. It's not Mengle we're talking about. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.233.70.84 (talk) 03:56, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Unreliably sourced material
[edit]Preserving here by providing this link. Pls see edit summary for rationale. Additions: diff. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:09, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
This appears to be a fringe source; the link brings up personal correspondence discussing the Jewish "conspiracy":
- Mueller, Walter (28 February 2005). "THE FUEHRER'S PERSONAL AIRCRAFT SQUADRON AND ITS COMMANDER". Retrieved 4 May 2009.
I reduced non RS content further; please see diff. K.e.coffman (talk) 23:12, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I wanted to replace Mueller as non-RS, but have been waiting to get my Hoffmann book back, so I can cite some of the airplane and unit information. Kierzek (talk) 00:59, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
biography of baur or history of flight ?
[edit]Is it really necessary to have the operational history of Hitler's personal planes here? Is this relevant to baur, when which plane was bought or entered service? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.11.55.207 (talk) 18:45, 8 September 2018 (UTC)

Missing years?
[edit]His memoirs curiously miss-out most of 1936-7, covering the Berlin Olympics and the visit of Edward and Wallis. Is there any expanation for this? Valetude (talk) 00:17, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
Imprisonment in France after release from Soviet Union
[edit]I'd just like to point out that neither the German nor the French version of Wikipedia mention this at all. Also, it seems no source was provided for this claim. Shouldn't that be deleted? Discordia23 (talk) 13:00, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
PS: Never mind, I went and deleted it myself. Feel free to put it in again once you have a reliable source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Discordia23 (talk • contribs) 13:12, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
