Green bond is broader than climate bond

[edit]

I see that two years ago this article was moved from "climate bond" to "green bond". Page mover was User:Asukite. I find this problematic as this article is now written as if climate bond = green bond but this is not true. Green bond is broader than just climate bond. The article on sustainable finance explains green bond quite well, see here. Could we rework this article so that "climate bond" becomes a sub-section within "green bond"? I've also voiced my concern about this on the talk page of climate finance: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Talk:Climate_finance#Green_bond_should_not_be_equated_with_climate_bond. @EMsmile Hi, that move was due to a WP:RM/TR technical request: permalink, on behalf of a single anonymous editor who appeared to have a valid argument to move it. Since it was a single editor and there was no discussion, the move can be reverted any time to the previous stable title, at which point a discussion can be held to change it again if desired. Feel free to let me know if you want to do that, or place another request at WP:RM/TR under "reverts of undiscussed moves". (although on second look, if it has been stable for a long time, a discussion might be a better starting point, I won't get in the way if multiple editors agree here that the new title is wrong however) ASUKITE 15:14, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello User:Asukite, thanks for the explanation. I've looked into it a bit more and I think the title "green bond" can probably stay but the article has to be reworked: Even though the title was "green bond", the term "climate bond" was used throughout without explanation. It seems that in the climate change scene, everyone now uses "green bond" to mean climate bond (or climate change relevant projects) but outside of the climate change scene, the term "green bond" refers to any environmental projects and is thus broader. I think we can probably rework the article to make that clearer. I've already started doing that but more work is needed. Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help with this.
