The deocrative use of national flags is contrary to WP:MOS and sub guidelines and is inappropriate in many cases. In this particular case, the flag of the Republic of Greece is inappopriate also because many Greeks in Chile come from, as the article says, Smyrna, which was never part of teh Republic of Greece; and other Greeks may have come from Egypt, Lebanon, the Balkans outside of Greece, from other parts of Anatolia, even from the Crimea or Ukraine...."flag-waving" is also not the point of wikipedia and is considered WP:POVSkookum1 (talk) 20:52, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not particularly familiar with the Greek-Chilean community, but the uncited population of 120,000 seems quite high to me. Does anyone have any citation for this, or any reason to believe its a sound estimate? –Skoulikomirmigotripa (talk) 15:59, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
