[edit]This is a translation of the german Wikipedia article on Grand Hotel van Cleef, which can be found here: http://de.wiki.x.io/wiki/Grand_Hotel_van_Cleef —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.228.186.48 (talk) 13:29, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- I dont know what passes for notability on the german site but a google search brings up 7 hits. [[1]] Hell In A Bucket (talk) 13:31, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's rather foul to put down the quality of a sister Wikipedia site, and it's worth nothing that their societal norms and standards might give a different meaning of "notability" than we ours. There's no reason why it wouldn't get a normal overview here like any article there. "No sources" is not listed under any criteria for CSD, so I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish. Anyway, the article as-is without any citations whatsoever is indeed unacceptable and should probably get a normal PROD of AfD tag. Very questionable G11 with the amount of text and links to other items included, but even then it's in good faith to let things slide a little for a foreign contributor coming over and might not know the translation guidelines. I certainly don't know them! That might be worth checking. ...Well, I still don't understand after reading WP:TRANSLATE, but there's no mention there of marking anything brought over for deletion whether it was official or not. Really, and nothing said there about permissions to ignore WP:BITE because an editor is a different language contributor. I'm removing the CSD tag, as none of the major problems with the article are on their own something in a category. Let the article improve and tag for standard deletion processes if there are still concerns. Datheisen (talk) 16:56, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. The CSD was unwarranted, so the article is now at AfD--but it won't be for long. Thanks, Datheisen, for stepping in. Drmies (talk) 04:20, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
