Capitalization and Spelling
[edit]The article cited on the WP article page by velonews does not capitalize gran fondo. OTOH, by GFNY Italia does. On the third hand, another GFNY Italia article uses the common noun granfondo. I won't make a case to change the content of the article today, but I'd like to use this section to trace the evolution of capitalization and spelling (2 words or 1). — tbc (talk) 19:33, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
" Nowadays only a handful of the largest Italian Gran Fondos have full road closures, but laws requiring riders to obey all traffic signals are more lax in Italy compared to other western countries.[3]

Is it acceptable to put such a statement in there on the basis of a footnote on some random guy that happens to have a internet website? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:184:4080:5F9F:64CA:79CF:A5B:FFA6 (talk) 02:45, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Originated in 1970?
[edit]As far as I know the first Grand Fondo race was held in 1894 and several more races were held in the early 1900s. Compare Gran Fondo on Museo del Ciclismo. Episcophagus (talk) 10:13, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
