I am not a fan of this page

[edit]

this page seems redundant and awkward. why is there a Mayor subsection? why isn't that stuff covered in the Sam Sullivan? or in Vancouver municipal election, 2005? or in Non-Partisan Association? Also on a slighty different note, why does the Vancouver municipal election, 2005 have a page, and the 2002 election doesn't? 2002 stuff doesn't belong in here. Basically, all this stuff used to be on the main Vancouver page. It was taking up way to much room, so it needed to be moved to a new page. That is what I did. Sure, the 2002 election needs a page but I have been too busy to make one. Can you do it? Canuck89 03:29, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
IMO, I think a {{main|Sam Sullivan}} would make more sense for the Mayor subsection. Or a {{main|Vancouver municipal election, 2005}}. Or both. Buchanan-Hermit™..SCREAM!!!.... 03:57, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree considering those are only short term solutions. There have been many political elections, mayors, scandals, political upsets and actions occur in Vancouver, and there will be many more in the future. This section should comprise a summary of all past and future notable political events in Vancouver. The only unfortunate thing about this article is that it only has events from the last couple of years. Ideally this article should be expanded to give a history of Politics in Vancouver and then include internal links for the reader who wishes to read more about a certain area covered. Page should be renamed: City of Vancouver

[edit]

This page describes the municipality City of Vancouver, mayor and council etc. It should be consistent, in keeping with other pages describing municipalities, such as City of Ottawa, City of Brussels, City of London, etc. More general information about Vancouver is well documented in Vancouver.

[edit]

Government and politics of VancouverCity of Vancouver – The current title is a little verbose, City of Vancouver is succinct and unambiguous. Currently, City of Vancouver is a redirect to Vancouver, which is misleading since City of Vancouver unambiguously refers to the municipality. Enquire (talk) 22:27, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
