[edit]According to this list of Utah American Legion politicians which lists the religion of all individuals listed (many of whom ARE listed as Mormon), Knight was not Mormon, and I can find NO reference to him being Mormon other than wikipedia mirrors. I'm removing that information. -Porlob 03:53, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
In addition to this, the article states that Knight's "funeral mass" was in the "Sacramento Mormon Temple." Whether or not Knight was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons)--which might reasonably be inferred from his Utah roots (born in Provo, Utah, where his grandfather was a judge, says the article)--(1) under no circumstances are funerals held in Mormon temples, (2) Mormon funerals are not called "masses," and (3) the Sacramento Temple was opened in 2006, 36 years after Knight's death.
Furthermore, the burial site in the "Inventory of Goodwin J. Knight Papers" website--http://www.oac.cdlib.org/findaid/ark:/13030/kt0290187d/entire_text/--is stated to be Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California, not Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California, as this article states. Probably a sifting of Inglewood and Sacramento newspaper issues around the death date would pin down where the funeral was held and where Knight was buried. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bludstoole (talk • contribs) 19:32, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
