Barcelona

[edit]

This article incorrectly identifies Higuain's current club as Barcelona, in several places. He plays for Napoli. Nigelrg (talk) 18:50, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Gonzalo Higuaín

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Gonzalo Higuaín's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "nft":

  • From Sergio Agüero: "Agüero, Sergio". National Football Teams. Benjamin Strack-Zimmermann. Retrieved 9 June 2012.
  • From Javier Pastore: "Javier Pastore". Retrieved 31 December 2014.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 20:18, 4 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Style of Play

[edit]

Higuain has many virtues, but I've never heard that pace was one of them. He's rather like Giroud in that respect.Nigelrg (talk) 14:47, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

His Brother in Early Life

[edit]

His brother Federico now plays with him on InterMiami and not on DC United. Can this be updated.

A hater and a Messi fan removed " He is regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation ". Higuain was an amazing Striker during real madrid days and even proven himself in 16/17. He only had one bad season that was in 18/19 and average 19/20. Just because he missed in some in crucial matches it does not make him a bad player or being treated like Emile Heskey Gar Saxon09 (talk) 02:43, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: @Gar Saxon09: Welcome to Wikipedia! So, I've taken a look, and it seems that claim is made again later in the article (namely in section "Style of play"). Based on my (albeit amateur) knowledge of policy after reviewing the sources sited on that claim, it may be a case of WP:SYNTH and/or WP:OR. One of the sources has rotted and the other two only explain that he is a good player. None of them report on him being the greatest of this generation. Because of this, I am going to be bold and also remove that claim from "Style of play" shortly. If you believe that such a claim can be substantiated please find a reliable source that reports on that and then submit another edit-request. Alternatively, once your account is 4 days old and has 10 edits you can re-add the statement yourself with your source. Understand that I am in not really a fan of sports, and am acting purely based on my knowledge of policy. I have no stake in this, and I am not claiming he isn't the greatest this generation - only that the sources given on it fail to substantiate said claim. Cheers! —Sirdog9002 (talk) 05:25, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
