Title change

[edit]

The title of the article was changed from Georgia state 2009 mass murders, because it did accurately reflect the definition of mass murder, or the most commonly used name in the media.

  • The original title was incorrect with respect to definitions. The term mass murder is a single event with multiple murders. To have mass murders (plural), means there were several places, each with its own set of victims and each with a different murderer. This article is about one event, several murders, and one murderer. Thus it is a mass murder.
  • An Advanced Google search of "Georgia State 2009 mass murder" reveals zero hits.
  • A Google search of "Glynn County Mass Murder" = 1,390 hits.

Therefore, the article title was changed in accordance with WP:COMMON. Boneyard90 (talk) 15:09, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
