Speed

The speed figure of 338mph is for the flights with the initial marginal engine. The later speed with the proper flight-ready engine was around 440mph, and with this it was considerably faster than a contemporary Spitfire. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.40.251.46 (talk) 21:07, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

E.38/39 at Cranwell

My grandfather was a civilian tutor at Cranwell in WW2. One day he came home and told my father that on the 'far side of the runway' was a canvas tent guarded by men with bayonets fixed.
