[edit]Second Intifada Can you add it? It's important to context. עם ישראל חי (talk) 10:21, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

The line "The suicide bombings carried out by Palestinian assailants became one of the more prominent features of the Second Intifada and mainly targeted Israeli civilians, contrasting with the relatively less violent nature of the First Intifada." should read: "The suicide bombings carried out by Palestinian assailants became one of the more prominent features of the Second Intifada and mainly targeted Israeli civilians, contrasting with the relatively less lethal violence of the First Intifada."
The difference between intifadas is primarily in their lethality, not their violent nature. Telecart (talk) 23:33, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Telecart, The paragraph is an "excerpt" template from Intifada#History, which means its dynamically taken from there. The text can't be changed here and can only be changed on the Intifada talk page. Please submit your edit request there. Bluethricecreamman (talk) 00:23, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- The first intifada was not “less lethal” and also had suicide booming and stabbing/shotting attacks 2A0D:6FC2:6490:B800:D141:F709:B41E:B611 (talk) 07:39, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
Article in need of reform
[edit]The slogan is quite explicitly a call for violence against Jews and Israelis abroad. The article, in particular the first paragraph, should be edited to reflect this fact. Île flottante (talk) 05:58, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- disagree. sourcing indicates a range of opinions, including some that indicate it as a call for violence. Current lede is short and succinct and covers all major opinions. Bluethricecreamman (talk) 06:18, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- I mean, globalise the intifada refers to making the first and second intifada a global phenomena. These two event were marked specifically by acts of terrorism again a jewish population. In short “globalise the intifada” literally mean a call for attacks on Jews or terror attacks in general 2A0D:6FC2:6490:B800:D141:F709:B41E:B611 (talk) 07:37, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Indeed. I propose modifying the lede such that it reads:
- Globalise the Intifada is a slogan that has been used by pro-Palestine activists. The slogan and related chants are a subject of controversy and discussion regarding their implications. The slogan has been criticized by some Jewish groups as inciting political and antisemitic violence against Jews and Israelis. The term intifada is derived from the Arabic word nafada meaning to "shake off" and refers to violent Palestinian uprisings and acts of terrorism as well as resistance against Israeli control. The call to "globalize" it suggests extending the spirit and actions of these actions beyond the regional context to a worldwide movement.

- See WP:BRD, be the change you want to see, and let reverts handle it... would object to last sentence, that should be attributed to someone(s).
- And descriptions of intifada as inherently violent or terroristic are not used in the lede of Intifada, would object to that too. Bluethricecreamman (talk) 17:16, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- I’m not interested in getting into a revert war with anyone. This page is written in an extremely biased fashion and needs revision as it downplays a slogan which actively supports acts of terror. Such revision must be arrived at by discussion.
- Île flottante (talk) 18:25, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- BRD is not license for revert war, its of the ways of editing wikipedia constructively, including letting folks revert parts they object to (see the essay).
- If you don't edit, and just complain in discussion, fine by me, but you are as empowered as the rest of us to do the changes you want to see. Bluethricecreamman (talk) 18:44, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
