Deletion Nominations
[edit]This article has had one deletion nomination already and so far the second one has all but one keep request. We need to work on this to bring it to standard, but please stop nominating this for deletion when the subject is definitely notable. Arnabdas (talk) 20:53, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Retrosheet coverage
[edit]See "Regional Postseason Series" at Retrosheet. Two of 32 matched the New York Giants and Yankees, 1910 and 1914.
Those series, including three matching Cleveland and Cincinnati, were official—sanctioned by Baseball. They exclude preseason (none sanctioned), mid-season (none sanctioned), and unsanctioned postseason games matching the same teams. --P64 (talk) 01:29, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
N Y intertwined
[edit]Can anyone date the Highlanders and Giants logos, including their colors? If not give their entire timespans, affirm some time both were used? --P64 (talk) 15:51, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- According to the Logos and uniforms of the New York Yankees article, the Highlanders logo was around 1905. The Giants logo used was the latest one they had in the 50's and should be on the San Francisco Giants homepage. Arnabdas (talk) 17:17, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Correction, 1923 for the Giants logo. Arnabdas (talk) 17:17, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have "improved" the caption per this discussion, maybe. But it should say "c. 1905" and "c. 1923" or equivalent with coding by someone who can align all in two lines.--P64 (talk) 20:30, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
