where is the *visualization* for this article???

[edit]

Does anyone else find it ironic, and a little sad, that the "Geovisualization" article has no.... visualizations! Come on wikipedians, let's fix this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.135.184.156 (talk) 13:58, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to add a link to Makai Voyager; but it was removed as spam. As with the Avizo and GeoViz links, the Voyager software is a software product aimed at geovisualization. Neither of those products/software are referenced in the text of the article. I'd be happy to contribute an image per the comment above ('where is the *visualization* for this article???'). — Preceding unsigned comment added by John carl anderson (talkcontribs) 07:51, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As an employee of the company it is a conflict of interest to add links to it on Wikipedia. If the software is notable then leave it to somebody else to add it to the article. --Biker Biker (talk) 08:08, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Considering that the link to Avizo's product was added by this user (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Special:Contributions/Egallois), it doesn't seem like the COI policy is being applied evenly to existing and new contributions. I don't want the Avizo's link removed, however, because I think it's valuable to be able to see the commercial interests in a field; I just wanted to add a few links to show that they are not the *only* commercial interests. Anyhow, as I said before, I'd be happy to contribute a few images to this page if it wouldn't just get removed immediately...John carl anderson (talk) 17:23, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
