Associated with murders
[edit]The sentence "His name is associated with a grisly set of murders, due to his tolerance of the Manson group's stay on his property" confuses two issues. His name is associated with the murder because the plot was hatched at his ranch. The "Family" was living there because he tolerated them. The murders were not due to his tolerance of the group.203.80.61.102 (talk) 23:27, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
- It doesn't say that the murders were due to his tolerance of the group, it says that his name is associated with the murders due to his tolerance of the group, which is true causally. However, his name is associated with the murders because they stayed at Spahn's ranch, not because he tolerated them doing so (e.g., they could have held him prisoner or killed him, and the name association would still hold) nor because "the plot was hatched" there (if it even was). -- Jibal (talk) 05:29, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
