Hi SchroCat. I see that you reverted some of my changes which IMO improved the structure, and used headings which have become standard across most bio articles. Also, more importantly, please see WP:IMAGELOCATION. These days we are also catering for mobile versions and the app, which cause different results when pics are on the left. (And note WP:OWN.) Thanks. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 07:32, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What an odious comment. You make a childish insult regarding ownership without knowing why I've reverted some of the poorer parts of your edit while leaving some of the benefits. That's an obnoxious way to start a thread. Go away, read WP:AGF and try again. - SchroCat (talk) 08:18, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fictionalised George Formby

[edit]

hi, new to this game, but I wondered if it's worth mentioning that a fictionalised George Formby is present in Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series. He has been declared non-executive president for life after Nazi occupation of England ended in WWII, for services to the nation. He is instrumental in preventing Chancellor Yorrik Kaine from taking over completely, largely because Formby refuses to be anywhere near him. 115.64.101.63 (talk) 14:29, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No, it isn't. For anyone wanting to read about Formby, that is going to be largely gibberish, and it's got nothing to do with the real life Formby. He died forty years before an author decided to use the name, so it doesn't really provide any information about the man himself. Keep that to the pages about the books, I think. - SchroCat (talk) 15:08, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with SchroCat. Also, see WP:IPC for more information about this sort of thing. -- Ssilvers (talk) 01:02, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
