Converted?

Recent (otherwise good!) copy-edits say the former opera house was "converted" to a concert hall. Well, it was in ruins after World War II, until rebuilt decades later, keeping the exterior as it was, but most of the interior new as a multipurpose event location - with an organ in the largest hall - used mostly for concerts.
