"following Shchusev's exterior plans as accurately as possible"
[edit]- Any sources for this? (I mean, reliable professional sources, not the corporate PR blurbs like now) Is there any evidence that Shchusev's exterior plans (prior to the forced "asymmetrization" due to structural issues) did, indeed, specify different colour schemes for the left and right towers? The drafts that I have seen at the Shchusev Museum of Architecture were in black-and-white, and there was nothing suggesting present-day colour asymmetry. It's not on the museum site now, but you may enjoy this never-built draft for the north-eastern wing. Perfectly symmetrical. Retired electrician (talk) 09:19, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
