I removed the statement which said that lawn tennis was invented in Four Crosses, because it seemed like a rather large claim to be left unsourced. Communisthamster 15:25, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- The claim which as described you were right to delete probably arose from the fact that the acclaimed inventor of lawn tennis, Major Walter Clopton Wingfield, had his country home in Rhysnant Hall nearby which has been demolished since his lifetime. However as he lived largely in London after 1870 he probably did not spend time enough to do much here. Nantclwyd Hall, Denbighshire, has claim to being first place his game was demonstrated.Cloptonson (talk) 09:08, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
