[edit]There was a FoodLand near where I grew up, just north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I don't know if they are the same chain or not.
- Unlikely, as this Foodland was founded in Hawaii and nothing on their site indicates they ever expanded out of state. -- Hawaiian717 16:47, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Local Ownership
[edit]66.135.229.253 posted the following in the article, but it belongs here:
Actually, Star is still locally owned, and Times Markets were locally owned until very recently.
I'll see if I can dig up some info to verify this, and if it's true, then adjust the claim in the article that Foodland is the only locally-owned supermarket chain. -- Hawaiian717 16:47, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
split
[edit]If this is about two different and unrelated chains, shouldn't it be two different articles? 68.238.239.34 (talk) 16:28, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
You have a point. I'll go ahead and split the articles Robert Moore 06:01, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
