Name of Page
[edit]Almost all pages in the 'List of British Governments' sequence are titled [Name of party] Government [start-date] - [end-date] E.g. 'Conservative Government 1858–1859'. I suggest that this page should be titled 'Whig Government 1855–1858'. As stated in http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/History_of_the_Liberal_Party_(UK)#Origins 'The formal foundation of the Liberal party is traditionally traced to 1859 and the formation of Palmerston's second government.' Which suggests that his first government was still a Whig one.

http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/List_of_Prime_Ministers_of_the_United_Kingdom calls Palmerston's 1855-8 Government 'Whig'. This issue was specifically discussed at http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Talk:List_of_Prime_Ministers_of_the_United_Kingdom#Ideology

As most of the pages in the format '[Name of party] Government [start-date] - [end-date]' have now been changed to '[Name of Prime Minister] Ministry', I suggest that this page should be renamed 'First Palmerston ministry'. Alekksandr (talk) 19:34, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
