I wrote the article "Fabrica" to help contribute to the increasing information and wealth of knowledge in the Wikipedia. Fabrica was a major center of trade, industry and commerce in Negros Occidental, Philippines, in the 1920s up to 1976. It was at that time the biggest barrio in the Philippines, and famous as the site of the largest lumber / sawmill company in the world, until the giant Insular Lumber Company closed its operations. Fabrica
[edit]The article about "Fabrica" is informative. But having been to the place in the early 1960's, I feel the article needs expanding. There is a lot more information that needs to be added, to have a complete picture about Fabrica, its rich history, customs of the people, and its current situation, which is a far cry from its good old days. -- Celso Parnaso
I have added the lines on funeral parlor in Fabrica because when I visited Negros Occidental in 1972, I have discovered that the place-which is actually a barrio, had already two funeral parlors, while the other cities and towns in the Philippines had none. -- Teroy
To Teroy: You wrote you visited Negros Occidental in 1972, did you also visited Fabrica? Your information is not clear. (Patter)
The ILCO was not close or moved 1976 I believe it was completely close and move to Hinoba-an after 1979... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.64.141.9 (talk) 19:08, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Fabrica
[edit]I added the names of Gilopez Kabayao and Ramon Bagatsing because in their biographies, these two famous men had said that they were born and grew up in Fabrica, Negros Occidental, and I find the information relevant for the Fabrica article. (geranium19).
Guys, my mom said there are three theaters during that time, the DUX, VISTA and ILCO theaters respectively. Also you might want to mention the golf course and swimming pool at the americal quartel. -anjo There was a Tennis Court in front of the Ilco Hospital and also the Big Baptist church beside the Hospital. 203.117.208.227 16:01, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
