Fair use rationale for Image:FI LOGO color100w.jpg

[edit]

Image:FI LOGO color100w.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:12, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was moved to FICO Aervanath (talk) 06:00, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On March 10, Fair Isaac officially changed it's name to FICO: Fair Isaac changes name to FICO. All web and other materials also now reflect this change. I suggest that this should result in an updated Wikipedia article title, with a new section addressing the change.

Per the America Online article move to AOL in April 2006, Revision History of AOL, I think we need to create a new article called FICO and shift the Fair Issac article to this page. Thoughts? I have added the Move tag to this page - though the move is to the Redirect so the Redirect should be updated to Fair Isaac, instead. Kat Malone (talk) 14:44, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't really a matter of having to "create a new article". All that is needed is change the name of this article and rewrite it slightly to reflect the new company name, while still showing the company history. 199.125.109.126 (talk) 01:22, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Updated FICO names throughout

[edit]

Due to the above shift in brand name, I am also going to follow up and update the name Fair Isaac throughout the article to FICO. I will also research a short passage that reflects the name change itself. Kat Malone (talk) 13:54, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable source

Questionable source

[edit]

8 of the article's 9 citations come from the fico.com domain name. The one other source is a dead link as of Feb 23 2011. While that is fine for things like the founder of the company, I feel that many of the descriptions of FICO's services have their objectivity compromised. An example: "Professional services" is described as "FICO's deep decision area experience and technical expertise to help individual clients solve unique business challenges, and get more value from FICO tools and solutions." This says little about the actual nature of the service, and does little more than promote the virtues of the company. This is perhaps because it is taken almost verbatim from their site.

If this criticism is improper or inappropriate, please tell me. I'm new to editing.

The article about Mark N. Greene reads like a LinkedIn profile and looks like a shameless self-promotion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.16.247.154 (talk) 17:49, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Updating FICO company description page because current description is not accurate

[edit]

FICO is an American public company that provides Big Data Analytics software solutions and Predictive Analytics solutions services — including FICO Score credit scoring[1]—intended to help companies in various industries make complex, high-volume and data driven business intelligence decisions.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Femiolajiga (talkcontribs) 17:19, 1 June 2014‎

This would sound promotional even without the two occurrences of the buzzword "solutions". — Mean as custard (talk) 18:12, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
