Release history suggestion

[edit]

The infobox is very overcluttered with release dates. Not that I'm specifically going for GA criteria, but I've been told the preferred Wikipedia method is not to list them all in the infobox, but have them be listed in a release history. The problem with that however is that I don't know how to make those special tables. I've seen one here. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 20:28, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need to build those tables from zero, you can actually just copy+paste them and then replace the information. You can run some tests in your personal sandbox until you get it right, or just use the preview button until you are sure everything's alright. That's what I normally do. I won't be able to work on it right now because I'm working at the Portuguese version of this article. Victão Lopes Fala! 20:47, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Roadrunner

[edit]

Nightwish is no longer with Roadrunner. In fact this album was put out be Nuclear Blast in the USA so why is it in the label part. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:304:CFAD:2E70:34EF:D94B:AD09:DB52 (talk) 14:01, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Got a source that they left Roadrunner? dannymusiceditor what'd I do now? 22:39, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
How about this? Tabercil (talk) 03:17, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
We don't need a source that explicitly says "this album was not released via Roadrunner", but if we can't find a source confirming the album was indeed released via that label, the information should be removed. The Portuguese article was mostly written by me and I'm going to remove the information from there too, since nobody noticed the mistake (probably a result from copying and pasting the infobox from Imaginaerum). I just checked Roadrunner's website and Nightwish is not listed among their bands. Google searches for Endless Forms Most Beautiful + Roadrunner return nothing reliable. Victão Lopes Fala! 03:25, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Which is why it's best to take it off. The USA release is with Nuclear Blast they are even on there [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:304:CFAD:2E70:1467:29D2:4299:ABE8 (talk) 23:32, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Are we going overkill on the FB references?

[edit]

I want to nominate this article for GA, but I'm afraid it's going to fail for poor referencing. The prose is bad enough (getting it copyedited soon) but I don't know if it's okay to use this many facebook references - it is all from the official band page though. It covers key content in the article that I'm not sure would be available from other references. If I wasn't uneasy about this, I would've already nominated it for GA. dannymusiceditor what'd I do now? 18:09, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Many of those album updates posted on Facebook may have become news on Blabbermouth, Loudwire, Metal Hammer, etc. Such stories can be used to replace the self-published sources. Victão Lopes Fala! 16:25, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Single My Walden

[edit]

Will we include "My Walden" as a third single of "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" or, at least, as a promotional single or include the song in the category "Songs" in the band template?

"My Walden" is an official release of Nightwish:

I will definitely add this when I come back to editing Nightwish articles - right now I've got my hands full with other GA nominations. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 21:54, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
