This article has numerous issues.
- The lead is far too short. The lead should be a short summary of the article. As it stands, it is only three sentences, and does not discuss any events that took place during the emperor's reign. Please expand the lead, and include more information from the article.
- While the article is well sourced, there is no bibliographical information listed for any of the works. You need to include publishers, date of publications etc. for all the works. This includes the primary sources. You should also use pinyin in the reference section instead of Chinese characters. If you wish to keep the footnotes as they are, add a new section entitles 'references' with the bibliographical information.
- The line in the fourth section "a death that traditional historians believed to be a poisoning by Empress Wei" needs a source. Which historians?
- The article is too long, being almost 70 KB. It should be no longer than 60 KB. I would recommend eliminating the lists at the end of the article, as they don't really add anything to the article. You can spin them off into a separate list article.
- The writing needs to be polished. Please thoroughly copy edit the article. I'll point out a few mistakes that need fixing.
- Third section "who had been briefly emperor prior to Li Dan" should be "who had briefly been emperor prior to Li Dan"
- Third section "he spent time to cultivate relationships with imperial guard commanders" should be "he spent cultivating relationships with imperial guard commanders"
- Early Kaiyuan Era "Changing the system of having a large group of chancellors simultaneous" This doesn't make any sense. Do you mean 'at the same time'?
- "Also in 714, Emperor Xuanzong created Li Siqian, his second son and the son of his then-favorite concubine Consort Zhao, crown prince." According to this sentence, Emperor Xuanzong made Li Siqian, which is impossible. You need to rewrite this to say that he was made crown prince, not made by the emperor.
- These are only some of the errors present. Read through the rest of the article to find others.
Please fix these issues and let me know when you are finished, at which point I will take another look at the article.Zeus1234 (talk) 21:24, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'll look at this when I get a chance; most of these need fixing, although I will note that "create" here as a technical meaning — the giving of a title. (See, e.g., Charles, Prince of Wales.) --Nlu (talk) 05:03, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- I've failed the article as you've made no effort to change it in the two weeks since I've reviewed it.Zeus1234 (talk) 17:07, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
