Actually CCTV applications were never in the focus of Elphel. We started with high speed gated intensified camera Model 303 and since then were targeting mostly scientific and other innovative applications - those where freedom and openness of the design is valued most. The link to the Elphel website is apparently being blocked by a referrer check when accessing it directly from Wikipedia. I'm not sure of what possible reason they could have for doing this, but should the link be removed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.161.131.218 (talk) 01:14, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaned up

[edit]

OK, so the AfD closed no consensus so the article will be kept. I cleaned up all the shitty sourcing. Please use WP:RS going forward and please avoid citing the company website with "updates". This is not the company's website nor a proxy for it nor an amplifier for it. Jytdog (talk) 19:26, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jytdog, thank you for taking your time to clean up this page and improve the article. Can you please clean up your previous message according to WP:CIV too? Andrey Filippov @ Elphel 166.70.117.129 (talk) 03:45, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The above statement by Jytdog is incorrect: Elphel replaced dead links (after company web site was re-organized) with updated URLs pointing to the new locations of the same pages and replaced obsolete image (when it became unavailable) with the current equivalent one according to http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Contact_us_-_Subjects : "If you're interested in donating photographs to illustrate your article or adding a recording of your voice, you can upload them yourself and include them in the article.". No new content was ever added, when we noticed a factual error we just posted a note here (see below), on the talk page, as recommended: "They can sometimes be reached by leaving a note detailing your issues on the article's "talk" page". My claims are easy to verify using "history" tab. Andrey Filippov @ Elphel 166.70.117.129 (talk) 16:28, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

moved this down here. Please don't interfere with the headers. All that header is does is inform people working on this article that someone with a direct financial interest in it, has worked on it. Jytdog (talk) 16:39, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And please log in when you edit. No one can know if you are Andrey Filippov or not. I could log out and edit from an IP and say I am him. Jytdog (talk) 16:40, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And finally here are the edits to the article under the "Elphel" named account.
There are also several other accounts and IPs that have worked mostly on this article or adding links to it in other articles. Have you edited from other accounts or IPs? Jytdog (talk) 16:46, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Jytdog, I am not you and never hide my name. I do extremely value anonymity for others, especially in the countries with oppressive regimes where you can lose your job if not life or health, but I am living in a free country and always use my full name. I use the same range of static IPs from both the company and even my home (other IP range), that did not change for over a decade. So my IP is my signature - I trust my co-workers (at the company) and my family (at home) that they will never impersonate me. As for accounts and IPs you listed - I expect most are users of Elphel products http://map.elphel.com/ who know what they are using. I do not see anything strange that they created their accounts to contribute to Elphel page - people have other occupations in their life than write or edit Wikipedia pages, and even as you call yourself "we" (as Russian Tsar) - you are not a synonym to Wikipedia. I'm sure you also used images made by Elphel cameras (most of the Google Books ones that were captured during first 8 years of the project, over 30 billions - the last known to me number not at the very end), but the billions of these indirect customers do not have anything to write about our company, they do not know anything how Google captured them. And Goolge is not most transparent company in the world to spread that knowledge. So what about your inappropriate language and WP:CIV ? Andrey Filippov @ Elphel 166.70.117.129 (talk) 18:02, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You don't seem to understand the issue with editing from an IP and claiming you are some real world person, but this is not worth continuing.
btw, WP:CIVIL has to do with how we treat each other. I have not been uncivil to you.
There is nothing productive happening here, so I will not be responding further on this thread. Jytdog (talk) 20:10, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
