Talk:Elephant crushing
Blisteringly biased. In desperate need of editing from an expert in the subject.
- I've removed this offending sentence:
- "It is exagerrated or mostly invented by animal rights activists. Domestic elephants in Asia are not kept in cages, capturing from the wild in Asia ended decades ago and driving nails into sensitive feet will likely kill valuable elephant."

--Factual errors, offense and NPOV violation--
I found no reference of "crushing" as described in wikipedia article outside animal rights-provided information.
This article mixes isolated animal abuse with ancient and obsolete Asian practices and gives impression as regular current practice in zoos, circuses and working elephants in Asia.
It is "offending" to Asian people, who consider elephant holy and care much for this sensitive (and valuable!) animals. Zoos are also abused, as they are linked to such abuse.

- Hey Jurek,
- I have personally spoken with mahouts in Thailand who have confirmed this process is used for all trained elephants in Thailand, and I've seen numerous documentaries and actual video coverage of it being done. [1] [2] Faking filmed coverage is very difficult to do so I tend to believe that it actually happens. Can we all agree that if the process exists it is offensive and inhumane? Have you spoken to elephant handlers who deny this training happens? If so where? Sorry to hear that you are offended, though I am not the author of the article. Do you find it offensive because you believe the people who do this are bad people? I don't believe anyone is claiming that an entire group or nation of people is guilty of this behavior, only the individual trainers. Thanks.
