Missing head

[edit]

The BM collections database page just says it is missing. Neil MacGregor might have discussed whether it was missing/broken off or missing/never there in the A History of the World in 100 Objects programme, but I can't remember offhand and haven't got time just now to relisten to the programme. Will try to get round to it before too long. Chasuble (talk) 17:11, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think the obvious applies. If the BM had the broken-off head they would have repaired it and it certainly would be mentioned in the on-line collections database. The original clarification tag asked if the head was missing or broken off, as the on-line database only mentions additional fragments rather than a reconstruct-able head, it seems reasonable to use the term "lost" or "missing" in the article with reference to the database record for verification.
