Notability question

[edit]

I'm not sure if East Martin deserves an independent existence. Although it is marked on the map, it really does just seem to be the east side of the village Martin, Hampshire, and can probably just be mentioned there. Singinglemon (talk) 00:32, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

East Martin is a hamlet in the civil parish of Martin, Hampshire. It has its own address code and name for the hamlet. For a little proof I have found the village's history page which says that the village contains the hamlets of East Martin, West Martin and a place called 'Tidpit'.

Merge proposal

[edit]

I suggest merging this page with Martin, Hampshire. East Martin seems to refer to some houses on a lane at the east side of the village of Martin: [1]. Presumably it was a separate manor at some point, hence the indpendent name, but I don't really see how having "its own address code and name" counts as notable criteria for a separate page on Wikipedia.
