[edit]OK, we may need to distinguish Lord Ruthven of Freeland and Lord Ruthven titles. In a 1911 Britannica article, Ruthven (family), we have descriptions of Lords Ruthven of Freeland dating to 1701 at least with dubious claimants after that. When was the title of Lord Ruthven of Freeland attached to the Earldom of Carlisle? Alba 23:16, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
- According to Leigh Rayments's Peerage Page, that was in 1982.
