I would not categorize Dudes as a comedy. It may have comedic elements (it's been a while since I last viewed it) but hardly seems to fit that category. Source: I own the film on VHS, and have seen it several times. --173.180.102.130 (talk) 04:51, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In rewriting the article, I believe I have addressed this issue. As discussed by the various parties involved in making the film, it does not fall easily into any one or two genres. Comedy would certainly not be its primary genre; although it does have comedic moments and undertones, it is primarily a "modern western". Since it blends a number of genres and is not easily categorized, listing genres in the lead sentence makes the sentence unwieldy. I therefore left it at "independent film" and mentioned the various genres later in the lead and discussed them in greater detail within the article body. --IllaZilla (talk) 19:18, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
