[edit]There is no point in detailing his experience in golf in a separate article called 'Donald Trump and golf'. What about 'Bing Crosby and Golf' or 'Tiger Woods and golf'?Kugihot (talk) 19:24, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
- The article was created more than 1.5 years ago - unlikely it is going away. David notMD (talk) 18:52, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
- Keep the article. I want to know about financials (see new section below). Trump has sunk a giant chunk of whatever wealth he may have (if any, these days) in golf courses. How much money did he sink into them? Do these things make money? If so, what is Trump's ROI (return on investment) on them? I find it hard to believe that golf courses make much money - I thought they were known for swallowing money.Betathetapi454 (talk) 18:58, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
Additional input would be appreciated in a related discussion at Talk:Turnberry (golf course)#Russia and remuneration controversies. Many thanks. wjematherplease leave a message... 12:35, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Claims of cheating and handicap manipulation
[edit]some people who played with him have publicly accused him of cheating. Golf News Net
Reports of his cheating have been described at length in at least one book + a few articles. New Yorker
Any handicap claims, and claims of wins at championships at his own clubs, should be noted as self-reported and controversial. – SJ + 23:23, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Number of days golfing during presidency
[edit]Why is the number of days Trump golfed during his presidency not mentioned in this article? The number is 307 days. Please add this very basic information to this article. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 10:20, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- Perhaps because it's meaningless trivia and there are no reliable sources for such figures? wjematherplease leave a message... 11:17, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that it's "meaningless trivia", that's 307 days where he wasn't working at least part of the day. Obama was heavily criticized for his golf time by Republicans even though it was much less. 331dot (talk) 19:00, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
Trump golf course financials
[edit]I want to know about Trump's golf course financials. Golf courses are not normally known for making money - on the contrary, they are known for devouring money. Can you think of a single person who has made a fortune in golf courses? I thought they were terrible investments, and that is why membership fees and course fees are so high - because they eat cash. Trump has sunk a giant chunk of whatever wealth he may have (if any, these days) in golf courses. How much money did he sink into them? Do his golf courses make money? If so, what is Trump's ROI (return on investment) on them? I find it hard to believe that his golf courses make much money - they are known as being terrible investments - but perhaps Trump made money on them while he was President because people wanted to curry favour with him, so they held events etc at his golf courses - it is well-known that he would get/force people/organisations to hold events at his golf courses, stay at his hotels, book hotel room at his hotels even if they were not going to use them. What's the story on the financials of Trump's golf courses? Betathetapi454 (talk) 19:29, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
