Contradiction

[edit]

"The official state language is Slovak, and Hungarian is widely spoken in the southern regions, although it is banned completely as an official language, and people found talking Hungarian in the street (even foreigners) can be punished with a large fine or jail (Which is serious violation of at least three international laws).Hungarians living in towns of Western Slovakia like Nitra, Vrable, Levice a Nove Zamky - personal testimony - speak freely in Hungarian in the streets and shops and nobody harasses and punishes them for doing so." These two statements contradict each other. As well, Wikipedia should be based on research rather than unverifiable and unattributed "personal testimony". Political situation vis-a-vis ethic minorities should also be added: They are part of the new (2010) government. As well, a section on education should be added, e.g. Selye_János_University that was established in 2004. Thanks. Iswikinumber2 (talk) 03:10, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In 2021 census, people were able to give more than one answer on the question asking for the minorities (for example, people were allowed to write Slovakian as their first ethnic identity and Hungarian as a second ethnic identity). For further information see: https://www.scitanie.sk/en/results-in-mutual-combination. It should be indicated in the table e.g. in brackets. Thank you for your help in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.131.119.206 (talk) 15:38, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
