Talk:Dear Esther
Release date of original mod
[edit]I couldn't find a source for the 'July 29, 2008' date, so I've changed it to simply 'June 2008' based on the fact that on the original mod's page on Mod DB, the comments go as far back as June 27, 2008. The 'February 15, 2011' release date shown on Mod DB is due to how the game was taken off the site for a while and then put up again on that date. Sylosin (T/C) 01:13, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Shadows
[edit]Shouldn't we add the numerous shadows that are in the game? Espescially the one at the Ariel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.11.77.226 (talk) 08:39, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
Characters
[edit]Just wanted to point out that Paul and Jakobson are the same person (Paul Jakobson) and that Esther's last name is Donnelly, suggesting the other is her father. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.44.13.132 (talk) 04:33, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- The last part of the monologue when jumping off the tower suggests this - but on the other hand please consider the years mentioned in the beginning and think about the existence of modern cars back then. The identities indeed become more and more blurred through a playthrough. --Tallyho (talk) 14:09, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
Screenshot
[edit]I added a screenshot for the game. Billybobjoe997 (talk) 02:54, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Section split
[edit]The gameplay and plot section should be separated and more detail going into each section.--Paleface Jack (talk) 17:13, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

"A figure" vs "figures"
[edit]In the current state of the article it is written that "At various points, a figure is seen walking away from the player in the distance, but disappears before they can be reached."
The positions and behaviour of the figures corresponds to stories told in narration. Furthermore in the original release of Dear Esther, different figures would also use different textures rather than the uniform black present in the current release version suggesting "the figure" are meant to be multiple figures that are not just the same figure across the game. 2A02:1210:1C27:2900:7034:4B57:226C:D4B1 (talk) 00:29, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
