  • "Margoliouth was a scholar whose efforts in Islamic studies are described as "pioneering". He has a near-legendary reputation among Islamic peoples and Oriental scholars of Europe."

Translations as "works"?

[edit]

The Table talks, listed under "works", are translated and edited by Margoliouth, they are not a "work" by himself.

"The table talk of a Mesopotamian judge being the 1. part of the Nishwar al-muhadazah or jami' al-tawarikh ... ed. from the Paris Ms. by D(avid)-S(amuel) Margoliouth. (arab.)" The author is Abu Al al-Muhassin ibn 'Ali al-Tanuhi (also written as: Abū ʿAli al-Muḥassin at-Tanūḫī) Just look in any catalogue! This is not very good because all other versions of Wikipedia (french, german etc.) copy from this one. --R. la Rue (talk) 09:44, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
