@Bearcat: CBC says "the Fredericton-based author was chosen by the prime minister's new independent, merit-based appointments process, which was set up shortly after the Liberal government took office."[1] I suppose this is better than having Duffy appointed to the Senate. sikander (talk) 18:23, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
